Dr. Stephanie Nykamp, DVM, MSc, DACVR
Chair, VCR Medical Board
Dr. Stephanie Nykamp’s elevation to Chair of the VCR Medical Board is both a recognition of what she has already built at VCR and the foundation for what comes next. Having served as the Co-Founder and company’s North American radiology leader on the Medical Board, she has played a formative role in shaping
VCR’s clinical standards and radiologist community. As the company formally expands and structures that body, there was no question about who should lead it.
A Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology since 2003, Dr. Nykamp completed her radiology residency at Cornell University and holds a Master of Science in Medical Biophysics from Western University. With over 80 peer-reviewed scientific publications and numerous book chapters. During her tenure as faculty at the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph, she trained and mentored diagnostic imaging residents across multiple specialties and was the Associate Dean Clinical Program for 8 years. She has been an active member of the ACVR for many years, serving on the Executive Council, as Examination Director, and most recently as Secretary.
As Chair, Dr. Nykamp will lead the formal expansion of the Medical Board, establish governance structures and reporting standards, and provide independent clinical oversight of VCR’s radiologist standards and education programs. She works in close partnership with Dr. Lund on the education strategy the Board
oversees.
“Taking on the Chair role as we grow the VCR Medical Board, feels like the right next step. There is a real opportunity to create something the profession can look to as a model — rigorous, transparent clinical governance that elevates the standard of teleradiology for every practice we serve.”
— Dr. Stephanie Nykamp, DVM, MSc, DACVR — Chair, VCR Medical Board
Dr. Jane Lund, DVM, MS, MBA, DACVPM, DACVR
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Jane Lund’s appointment as Chief Medical Officer completes VCR’s clinical infrastructure and formalizes a relationship with VCR that has already proven its value. Where Dr. Nykamp sets the governance framework, Dr. Lund is the outward-facing pillar of that structure — the bridge between VCR’s clinical expertise and the profession it serves. As an existing member of the VCR radiologist team, she brings an insider’s understanding of VCR’s operations, culture, and customer relationships, combined with a uniquely broad background spanning clinical practice, veterinary education, research, and medical leadership.
A Diplomate of both the American College of Veterinary Radiology (DACVR) and the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (DACVPM), Dr. Lund holds a DVM, a Master of Science, and an MBA — a combination rare in veterinary medicine that positions her precisely at the intersection of clinical leadership
and commercial strategy the CMO role demands.
The centerpiece of Dr. Lund’s CMO mandate is VCR’s customer education program. She will design and help deliver a structured curriculum of radiology education integrated directly into VCR’s customer relationships — spanning X-ray positioning and interpretation, ultrasound technique, CT navigation, and MRI report literacy. As a core component of VCR’s consolidated customer offering, the program is designed to strengthen clinical relationships between our exceptional diagnostic imaging team and the practices we support while directly increasing the clinical capability of every practice in the VCR network. Dr. Lund will build and lead a small education support team, collaborate with VCR’s marketing function on clinical content, and serve as VCR’s public-facing clinical voice at trade shows, industry events, and key customer engagements.
“What excites me most is the opportunity to make radiology education genuinely accessible to veterinarians across the VCR network — not as a nice-to-have, but as a core part of what our customer relationships offer. We have the clinical talent, the case volume, and now the strategic intent to build something that truly moves the needle for vets and for their patients.”
— Dr. Jane Lund, DVM, MS, MBA, DACVPM, DACVR — Chief Medical Officer, VCR
