Dr. Stephanie Nykamp (North American Team Leader)

DVM, DACVR, MSC

Dr. Stephanie Nykamp is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph and has been a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiologists since 2003, following completion of a 3 year residency at Cornell University. As a faculty at the Ontario Veterinary College she has been involved in training and mentoring numerous diagnostic imaging residents as well as residents on other specialties.

Dr. Nykamp has a Masters in Medical Biophysics from Western University and over 80 scientific publications and numerous book chapters in diagnostic imaging.

Dr. Nykamp is excited to be consulting with Vet's Choice.

Dr. Olivier Taeymans (European Team Leader)

DVM, PHD, DIPECVDI, MRCVS

Dr. Olivier Taeymans graduated as European Specialist in Diagnostic Imaging (Dip ECVDI) in 2005 following a 1-year rotating internship and a 4-year residency training at Ghent University in Belgium. He defended his PhD on imaging of the neck at the same university in 2008 before moving to the USA where he was appointed Assistant Professor at the Cummings School of Veterinary medicine, Tufts University, Massachusetts. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2013 a few months before leaving to work at Dick White Referrals, Cambridgeshire, UK - Europe’s largest referral center. While there, Dr. Taeymans headed the imaging department between 2015 and 2019. During his time as Head of Service the department expanded to 9 imaging specialists, 5 specialists-in-training and 5 radiographers, making it the largest imaging department in private practice in the world. He left Dick White’s in 2021 to consult exclusively for Vet’s Choice Radiology.

Dr. Taeymans has trained well over 20 new specialists since becoming a diplomate of the ECVDI and has held several functions in this specialists’ college.

Dr. Taeymans is author or co-author of over 50 publications in international journals and authored several book chapters in different veterinary radiology textbooks.
